IT SYSTEMS OPERATIONS ENGINEER
				 
				QUALIFICATIONS :
													  								- University Degree or Diploma in Engineering, IT or any other technical discipline.
 								- Minimum 3-5 years of systems administration, engineering and/or operations experience.
 								- Expertise in Exchange, VMware, or scripting and administration a plus.
 							  
						 						SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES :
													  								- Solid experience of Linux and/or Windows administration.
 								- Strong knowledge of Internet protocols and conceptual knowledge of networking.
 								- Ability to work in a team environment.
 								- Knowledge of securing public facing systems.
 								- Ability to troubleshoot complex application-level problems independently.
 								- Ability to work effectively with internal departmental members and peers from other departments.
 								- Must demonstrate the capacity and desire for continued, independent learning.
 								- Excellent organization and follow-up skills.
 								- Excellent customer relation and communication skills.
 								- Must love to talk to customers and help them define business needs.
 								- Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment, while managing multiple activities/projects.
 							  
						 						KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
													  								- Provide advice and expertise leveraging emerging technologies to support our business objectives.
 								- Establish Systems Administration standards, policies, and procedures that align to Cogeco Peer 1’s culture and vision.
 								- Utilize these standards to implement upgrades and sustainment of System Infrastructure.
 								- Provide security advice and support compliance initiatives to ensure the security and integrity of our customer facing systems.
 								- Participate in the development of strategic goals for IT Systems and software in partnership with other.
 								- Design, implement and support new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
 								- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes and disaster recovery plans.
 								- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on all Product Development systems.
 								- Monitor, test, and optimize system performance.
 								- Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for related Applications, server operating systems, server hardware, and storage.
 								- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve all escalated Product Development system issues. While providing follow up root cause analysis investigational work.
 								- Work seamlessly with other departments in order to resolve and diagnose issues.
 								- Maintain accurate documentation and procedures.
 								- Enforce company security policies and other compliance requirements.
 								- May involve systems design including the creation of detailed technical documentation and collaboration with other internal teams to ensure supportability, cost effectiveness and alignment with corporate priorities.
 								- Operational support of complex issues and outages on an as needed basis including after-hours escalations.
